BLACKTHORNE SOUR

BLACKTHORNE SOUR

This sophisticated pre-Prohibition cocktail combines the tart berry notes of sloe gin with the complex herbal depth of Green Chartreuse for a truly unique flavor profile. The addition of pineapple syrup and fresh citrus juice creates a refreshing balance of sweet and sour that distinguishes this drink from standard sours. Served chilled in a stemmed glass and garnished with fresh fruit, it makes for an elegant and aromatic aperitif.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Shaved ice (Quantity estimated to fill a large bar glass 2/3 full.)
  • 4 dashes Lime juice or lemon juice (Freshly squeezed recommended.)
  • 1 teaspoon Pineapple syrup (Originally '1 teaspoonful'.)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Green Chartreuse (Originally '1/2 teaspoonful'.)
  • 1.5 ounces Sloe Gin (Originally '1 jigger'. Converted to modern standard measurement (1.5 oz).)
  • 1 piece Fresh fruit (For garnish (e.g., lemon slice, cherry, or pineapple wedge).)
