APPLEJACK FIX

APPLEJACK FIX

This refreshing 1917 cocktail combines the robust flavor of apple brandy with the brightness of fresh lemon and sweet fruit syrup. The "Fix" is a classic style of drink served over shaved ice, creating a frosty, slushy texture that dilutes perfectly as you sip. Finished with a splash of orange Curaçao and garnished with seasonal fruits, it offers a delightful balance of tart, sweet, and boozy notes.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons Superfine sugar (or granulated sugar) (Originally '2 teaspoonfuls Bar Sugar'.)
  • 1 tablespoon Water (Used to dissolve the sugar. Quantity estimated.)
  • 1/2 lemon Lemon juice (Juice of 1/2 lemon (approximately 0.75 ounces).)
  • 3 dashes Orange Curaçao (Originally 'Curacoa'.)
  • 4 dashes Fruit syrup (raspberry or pineapple) (Originally 'any Fruit Syrup'. Raspberry or pineapple are traditional choices.)
  • 1.5 ounces Applejack (or Apple Brandy) (Originally '1 jigger Applejack Brandy'. Converted to modern measurement (1 jigger = 1.5 fl oz).)
  • 1 cup Shaved ice (Enough to fill a large bar glass.)
  • 1 handful Seasonal fruits (berries, orange slice, pineapple) (For garnish.)
