Warming Over Poultry and Game
Methods for reheating and repurposing cooked poultry and game, including a variation similar to chicken doopiaja.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Cooked Poultry or Game (Shredded or diced)
- 2 medium Onions (Finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon Ginger (Grated)
- 2 cloves Garlic (Minced)
- 1 teaspoon Green Chilies (Finely chopped (adjust to taste))
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Garam Masala
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
- 0.5 cup Water (Or as needed)
- 2 tablespoons Fresh Cilantro (Chopped, for garnish)
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt (To taste)
Instructions
- 1Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- 2Add grated ginger, minced garlic, and chopped green chilies to the pan. Sauté for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
- 3Add cumin powder, coriander powder, and turmeric powder to the pan. Sauté for 1 minute, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
- 4Add the cooked poultry or game to the pan. Mix well to coat with the spices.
- 5Add water to the pan. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cover. Let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- 6Stir in garam masala and salt to taste. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
