Turnip Curry
A simple and flavorful turnip curry, inspired by traditional Indian cooking methods.
Ingredients
- 1 pound Turnips (Peeled and diced)
- 1 medium Onion (Finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon Ginger (Grated)
- 2 cloves Garlic (Minced)
- 0.5 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 0.5 teaspoon Chili powder (Adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- 1 cup Water
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt (To taste)
- 2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro (Chopped, for garnish)

Instructions
- 1Peel and dice the turnips into 1/2-inch cubes. Set aside.
- 2Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown (about 5 minutes). Add grated ginger and minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- 3Add turmeric powder, chili powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder to the pot. Sauté for 1 minute. Add the diced turnips and mix well to coat them with the spices.
- 4Add water and salt to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the turnips are tender.
- 5Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or roti.
