Threaded Syrup Icing
A simple threaded syrup icing, perfect for cakes and cookies.
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup Boiling water
- 2 Egg whites
- 1 cup Granulated sugar (Adjust to desired sweetness)
Instructions
- 1Break sugar into small pieces (if using large sugar crystals). Put sugar in a saucepan with boiling water.
- 2Stir occasionally until sugar is dissolved.
- 3Boil without stirring until syrup will thread when dropped from tip of spoon. This means when you drop a small amount of syrup from a spoon, it forms a thin, continuous thread.
- 4While the syrup is boiling, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- 5Pour syrup gradually on beaten whites, beating mixture constantly. Continue beating until of right consistency to spread.
