St. James Pudding
A simple and comforting baked pudding with molasses and a hint of clove.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons Butter, softened
- 0.5 cup Molasses
- 0.5 cup Milk
- 1.67 cups All-purpose flour
- 0.5 teaspoon Baking soda
- 0.25 teaspoon Salt
- 0.25 teaspoon Ground clove
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2Grease a 9-inch baking dish with butter.
- 3In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and molasses until well combined. Stir in the milk.
- 4In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground clove.
- 5Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 6Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- 7Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 8Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.
