Simple Chocolate Sauce

Simple Chocolate Sauce

A basic chocolate sauce recipe using milk and cornstarch. Perfect for topping desserts.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Milk (Whole milk recommended for richness)
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch (For thickening)
  • 0.25 cup Granulated Sugar (Adjust to taste)
  • 0.25 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (Adds chocolate flavor)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (Enhances the flavor)
  • 0.125 teaspoon Salt (Balances the sweetness)

Instructions

  1. 1In a medium saucepan, whisk together the cornstarch, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined. This prevents lumps from forming.
  2. 2Gradually whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and comes to a simmer. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
  3. 3Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let cool slightly before serving.
