Simple Boiled String Beans

Ingredients
- 1 pound String Beans (Fresh string beans, also known as green beans)
- 6 cups Water (For boiling)
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt (Or to taste)
- 2 tablespoons Butter (Unsalted, or to taste)
Instructions
- 1Wash the string beans thoroughly. Remove the strings (if any) and snap or cut them into approximately 1-inch pieces.
- 2Bring the water to a rolling boil in a pot. Add the string beans. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the beans are tender but still slightly crisp. Add salt during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- 3Drain the cooked string beans in a colander. Return the beans to the pot. Add butter and salt to taste. Toss to coat evenly. Serve immediately.
