Seasoned Rice
A simple recipe for seasoned rice, cooked in a flavorful broth.
Ingredients
- 0.33 cup Rice (Long grain rice is recommended)
- 1.5 cups Water (For the stock)
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt (Or to taste)
- 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper (Freshly ground)
- 1 Bay Leaf (Optional)
Instructions
- 1In a saucepan, combine water, salt, black pepper, and bay leaf (if using). Heat gradually to boiling point.
- 2Once boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.
- 3Strain the stock to remove the bay leaf (if used). Add the rice to the hot stock. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed, about 15-20 minutes.
