Scalloped Apples with Wafers
A simple and comforting dessert featuring layers of sliced apples baked with a buttery wafer crumble topping.
Ingredients
- 6 medium Apples (Peeled, cored, and thinly sliced)
- 0.5 cup Butter (Melted)
- 0.5 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1.5 cups Vanilla Wafers (Crushed)
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
- 2In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with sugar and cinnamon. Toss to coat evenly.
- 3In a greased 8x8 inch baking dish, layer half of the apple mixture. Sprinkle half of the crushed vanilla wafers over the apples. Repeat with the remaining apples and wafers.
- 4Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top layer of wafers.
- 5Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
- 6Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.
