Savory Cracker Stuffing
A simple and flavorful cracker stuffing, perfect for poultry or as a side dish. This recipe uses cracker crumbs, butter, and a touch of sage and poultry seasoning for a classic taste.
Ingredients
- 4 cups Cracker crumbs (Use your favorite crackers, such as saltines or Ritz.)
- 0.5 cup Butter (Melted)
- 1 teaspoon Dried sage
- 1 teaspoon Poultry seasoning
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt (Or to taste)
- 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper (Or to taste)
- 1.5 cups Milk (Scalded)
Instructions
- 1If using whole crackers, crush them into fine crumbs. You should have about 4 cups of crumbs.
- 2In a large bowl, combine the cracker crumbs, melted butter, sage, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure the crumbs are evenly coated with butter and seasonings.
- 3Scald the milk in a saucepan or microwave. Gradually pour the scalded milk over the cracker crumb mixture, mixing until the stuffing is moist but not soggy. Add more milk if needed to reach the desired consistency.
- 4You can either bake the stuffing in a greased baking dish at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and heated through. Alternatively, use the stuffing to fill poultry before roasting.
