Salted Almonds

Salted Almonds

A simple recipe for making delicious salted almonds at home.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces Jordan almonds (About 1 cup)
  • 1.5 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt (Or to taste)

Instructions

  1. 1Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the almonds and boil for 1 minute. Drain the almonds and rinse with cold water. Pinch the skin off each almond. Dry the blanched almonds on a clean towel.
  2. 2Heat the olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add about one-fourth of the almonds to the pan. Fry the almonds until they are delicately browned, stirring constantly to keep them in motion. This should take about 2-3 minutes per batch.
  3. 3Remove the fried almonds from the pan with a spoon or small skimmer, taking up as little oil as possible. Drain the almonds on brown paper or paper towels. Sprinkle the almonds with salt while they are still warm. Repeat the frying process with the remaining almonds.
  4. 4If the almonds are too salty, wipe them with a clean napkin to remove some of the excess salt.
