Salmon Cakes

A simple recipe for salmon cakes using stale bread crumbs and cream.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup Soft stale bread crumbs
  • 0.5 cup Cooked flaked salmon
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Melted butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 pinch Black pepper
  • 0.25 cup Milk

Instructions

  1. 1In a small saucepan, combine milk and bread crumbs. Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
  2. 2Add the flaked salmon to the bread crumb mixture. Ensure the salmon is well incorporated.
  3. 3In a bowl, combine cream, egg (slightly beaten), melted butter, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. 4Add the cream mixture to the salmon and bread crumb mixture. Stir until everything is well combined.
  5. 5Form the mixture into small patties. Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and heated through.
