Popovers

A simple recipe for making light and airy popovers, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a side dish.

Ingredients

  • 3 Large Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Melted Butter (Plus extra for greasing the pan)

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Generously grease a popover pan or muffin tin with butter. Place the pan in the oven while it preheats.
  2. 2In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and salt until well combined.
  3. 3Gradually whisk in the flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Stir in the melted butter.
  4. 4Carefully remove the hot pan from the oven. Fill each popover cup about 2/3 full with batter. Bake for 15 minutes at 450°F (232°C), then reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the popovers are golden brown and puffed up. Do not open the oven door during baking.
  5. 5Remove the popovers from the pan and serve immediately. They are best enjoyed warm.
