Popovers
A simple recipe for making light and airy popovers, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a side dish.
Ingredients
- 3 Large Eggs
- 1 cup Milk
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Melted Butter (Plus extra for greasing the pan)
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Generously grease a popover pan or muffin tin with butter. Place the pan in the oven while it preheats.
- 2In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and salt until well combined.
- 3Gradually whisk in the flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Stir in the melted butter.
- 4Carefully remove the hot pan from the oven. Fill each popover cup about 2/3 full with batter. Bake for 15 minutes at 450°F (232°C), then reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the popovers are golden brown and puffed up. Do not open the oven door during baking.
- 5Remove the popovers from the pan and serve immediately. They are best enjoyed warm.
