Perfect Cup of Tea
A simple guide to brewing the perfect cup of tea, whether using a teapot or a tea-ball and kettle.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Water (Filtered water recommended)
- 1 teaspoon Loose leaf tea or tea bag (Adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon Sugar (optional) (Or to taste)
- 2 tablespoons Milk (optional) (Or to taste)
Instructions
- 1Bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil using a kettle or stovetop pot.
- 2If using a teapot, pour a small amount of the boiling water into the teapot to warm it. Swirl the water around and then discard it. This helps maintain the water temperature during brewing.
- 3Place the tea leaves or tea bag into the teapot or tea-ball. Pour the boiling water over the tea.
- 4Let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on the type of tea and your preference. Black teas typically steep for 5 minutes, while green teas steep for 3 minutes.
- 5Remove the tea bag or tea-ball, or strain the tea leaves if using loose leaf. Pour the tea into a cup and add sugar and milk to taste, if desired. Serve immediately.
