Parisian Sweets
A simple and delicious confection made with figs, dates, and walnuts, perfect as a sweet treat or alternative to bonbons.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces Dried Figs (About 1/2 lb, stems removed)
- 8 ounces Pitted Dates (About 1/2 lb, stones removed)
- 8 ounces English Walnut Halves (About 1/2 lb, shelled)
- 1 cup Confectioners' Sugar (For dredging and coating)
Instructions
- 1Pick over the figs and remove any stems. Remove the stones from the dates. Roughly chop the figs, dates, and walnuts.
- 2In a food processor, combine the figs, dates, and walnuts. Pulse until the mixture is finely ground and starts to stick together.
- 3Lightly dust a clean surface with confectioners' sugar. Turn the fruit and nut mixture out onto the sugared surface. Knead briefly to form a cohesive dough. Roll the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into small squares or use a small cookie cutter to create shapes. Roll each piece in confectioners' sugar, shaking off any excess.
- 4Store the Parisian Sweets in an airtight container, layered between sheets of parchment paper, to prevent sticking.
