Parisian Sweets

Parisian Sweets

A simple and delicious confection made with figs, dates, and walnuts, perfect as a sweet treat or alternative to bonbons.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Dried Figs (About 1/2 lb, stems removed)
  • 8 ounces Pitted Dates (About 1/2 lb, stones removed)
  • 8 ounces English Walnut Halves (About 1/2 lb, shelled)
  • 1 cup Confectioners' Sugar (For dredging and coating)

Instructions

  1. 1Pick over the figs and remove any stems. Remove the stones from the dates. Roughly chop the figs, dates, and walnuts.
  2. 2In a food processor, combine the figs, dates, and walnuts. Pulse until the mixture is finely ground and starts to stick together.
  3. 3Lightly dust a clean surface with confectioners' sugar. Turn the fruit and nut mixture out onto the sugared surface. Knead briefly to form a cohesive dough. Roll the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into small squares or use a small cookie cutter to create shapes. Roll each piece in confectioners' sugar, shaking off any excess.
  4. 4Store the Parisian Sweets in an airtight container, layered between sheets of parchment paper, to prevent sticking.
