Modern Wine Dressing and Cream Whips

A modernized version of a classic wine dressing and cream whip dessert, perfect for adding a touch of elegance to salads or desserts.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 0.33 cup Sherry Wine
  • 2 tablespoons Madeira Wine
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (Or brandy or wine to taste)
  • 0.5 cup Fruit Preserves (Any flavor, for serving)

Instructions

  1. 1In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar, sherry wine, and Madeira wine until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. 2In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Gradually add 1 tablespoon of sugar (adjust to taste) and the vanilla extract (or brandy or wine). Continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
  3. 3Spoon fruit preserves into the bottom of frappé glasses or small bowls. Top with the whipped cream. Drizzle with the wine dressing, if desired. Serve immediately.
