Modern Reception Cocoa

A simple and comforting hot cocoa recipe, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Unsweetened cocoa powder (Original recipe calls for 3 tablespoons, adjusted for 2 servings.)
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar (Original recipe calls for 1/4 cup, adjusted for 2 servings.)
  • 0.125 teaspoon Pinch of salt (A few grains of salt.)
  • 2 cups Milk (any kind) (Original recipe calls for 4 cups, adjusted for 2 servings.)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla extract (Optional, for added flavor.)

Instructions

  1. 1In a small saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. 2Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the cocoa is hot and steamy, but not boiling. Stir in vanilla extract, if using.
  3. 3Pour into mugs and serve immediately. Garnish with marshmallows or whipped cream, if desired.
