Modern Maryland Chicken
A modernized version of Maryland Chicken, featuring crispy, oven-baked chicken with a buttery finish.
Ingredients
- 8 pieces Chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, breasts) (About 2 lbs total)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Black pepper
- 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
- 1 Egg (Beaten)
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
- 0.33 cup Butter (Melted)
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
- 2Set up a breading station with flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes. Dip each piece of chicken in flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumbs, ensuring it's fully coated.
- 3Place the breaded chicken in a well-greased baking dish or on a baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, basting with melted butter after the first 5 minutes of cooking.
- 4Arrange the baked chicken on a platter and serve immediately.
