Modern Maryland Chicken

A modernized version of Maryland Chicken, featuring crispy, oven-baked chicken with a buttery finish.

Ingredients

  • 8 pieces Chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, breasts) (About 2 lbs total)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
  • 0.33 cup Butter (Melted)

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. 2Set up a breading station with flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes. Dip each piece of chicken in flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumbs, ensuring it's fully coated.
  3. 3Place the breaded chicken in a well-greased baking dish or on a baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, basting with melted butter after the first 5 minutes of cooking.
  4. 4Arrange the baked chicken on a platter and serve immediately.
