Modern Marshmallow Frosting

A simple and delicious marshmallow frosting, perfect for chocolate cake or cupcakes. This recipe is easy to make and provides a smooth, flavorful topping.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup White fondant (High-quality fondant recommended)
  • 1 Egg white (From a large egg)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Vanilla extract (Use clear vanilla extract for a pure white frosting)

Instructions

  1. 1In a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water (double boiler), melt the white fondant. Stir occasionally until completely smooth and melted.
  2. 2In a separate clean, dry bowl, beat the egg white until stiff peaks form.
  3. 3Add the beaten egg white to the melted fondant and stir over the simmering water for two minutes. This will help stabilize the frosting.
  4. 4Remove the bowl from the heat and beat the frosting until it reaches a spreadable consistency. This may take a few minutes. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. 5Use immediately to frost your cake or cupcakes. Note that this frosting may not spread perfectly smooth, but it will be delicious!
