Ingredients

  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt (Enhances the flavors.)
  • 0.33 cup Brown sugar (Adds sweetness and moisture.)
  • 0.25 cup Maple syrup (Adds sweetness and flavor.)
  • 2 Eggs (Bind the ingredients and add richness.)
  • 0.25 cup Melted butter (Adds flavor and moisture.)
  • 0.75 cup Milk (Adds moisture and helps with consistency.)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract (Enhances the flavor.)
  • 0.5 cup Chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds) (Adds texture and flavor.)

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or grease well.
  2. 2In a large bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. 3In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, maple syrup, eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
  4. 4Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. 5Gently fold in the chopped nuts.
  6. 6Fill each muffin cup about 2/3 full.
  7. 7Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. 8Let the muffins cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
