Modern Ginger Punch
A refreshing and flavorful ginger punch with a hint of citrus, perfect for a warm day.
Ingredients
- 1 quart Water (Cold water)
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 4 oz Fresh ginger (Peeled and roughly chopped (½ lb. Canton ginger))
- 0.5 cup Fresh orange juice
- 0.5 cup Fresh lemon juice
- to serve Crushed ice (For serving)
Instructions
- 1Peel and roughly chop the fresh ginger.
- 2In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped ginger, water, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved and the ginger flavor has infused into the water.
- 3Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the orange juice and lemon juice.
- 4Let the mixture cool completely. Strain the punch through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the ginger pieces.
- 5Serve the ginger punch over crushed ice. Garnish with orange or lemon slices, if desired.
