Modern Fried Cucumbers

Crispy and savory fried cucumber slices, perfect as a side dish or snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium Cucumber (Peeled)
  • 0.5 tsp Salt (To taste)
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper (Freshly ground, to taste)
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 large Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
  • 2 cups Vegetable oil (For deep frying)

Instructions

  1. 1Peel the cucumbers and cut them lengthwise into 1/3-inch thick slices.
  2. 2Dry the cucumber slices thoroughly between paper towels. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. 3Set up a breading station with flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes.
  4. 4Dip each cucumber slice in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally in breadcrumbs, ensuring they are fully coated.
  5. 5Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the breaded cucumber slices in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the fryer. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. 6Remove the fried cucumber slices with a slotted spoon or tongs and place them on a wire rack lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
