A simple and savory stuffing made with cracker crumbs and butter, perfect as a side dish.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Cracker Crumbs (Use your favorite crackers, such as saltines or Ritz.)
- 0.5 cup Butter (Unsalted butter is recommended.)
- 0.5 cup Onion (Finely chopped.)
- 0.5 cup Celery (Finely chopped.)
- 1 teaspoon Poultry Seasoning
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt (Or to taste.)
- 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper (Freshly ground.)
- 1 cup Chicken Broth (Low sodium.)
Instructions
- 1Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- 2In a large bowl, combine the cracker crumbs, sautéed vegetables, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- 3Gradually add the chicken broth to the cracker crumb mixture, stirring until the stuffing is moistened but not soggy. You may not need all of the broth.
- 4Either bake the stuffing in a greased baking dish at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes, or use it to stuff a turkey or chicken before roasting.
