Modern Cracker Crumb Stuffing

A simple and savory stuffing made with cracker crumbs and butter, perfect as a side dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Cracker Crumbs (Use your favorite crackers, such as saltines or Ritz.)
  • 0.5 cup Butter (Unsalted butter is recommended.)
  • 0.5 cup Onion (Finely chopped.)
  • 0.5 cup Celery (Finely chopped.)
  • 1 teaspoon Poultry Seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt (Or to taste.)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black Pepper (Freshly ground.)
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth (Low sodium.)

Instructions

  1. 1Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and celery and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. 2In a large bowl, combine the cracker crumbs, sautéed vegetables, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. 3Gradually add the chicken broth to the cracker crumb mixture, stirring until the stuffing is moistened but not soggy. You may not need all of the broth.
  4. 4Either bake the stuffing in a greased baking dish at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes, or use it to stuff a turkey or chicken before roasting.
