Modern Claret Cup
A refreshing and slightly sweet wine punch, perfect for summer gatherings.
Ingredients
- 750 ml Claret Wine (Bordeaux) (Use a dry or semi-dry red wine.)
- 60 ml Curaçao Liqueur (Orange flavored liqueur)
- 750 ml Sparkling Water (Apollinaris or similar) (Use chilled sparkling water.)
- 50 ml Fresh Orange Juice (Freshly squeezed is best.)
- 30 ml Brandy (Adds a bit of warmth.)
- 1 orange Orange Slices (For garnish)
- 1 lemon Lemon Slices (For garnish)
- 6 sprigs Fresh Mint Sprigs (For garnish)
Instructions
- 1In a large pitcher, combine the claret wine, Curaçao, orange juice, and brandy.
- 2Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- 3Just before serving, add the chilled sparkling water to the pitcher. Stir gently to combine. Garnish with orange slices, lemon slices, and fresh mint sprigs.
