Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour (Plus more for dusting)
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 6 tablespoons Cold unsalted butter (Cut into small cubes)
  • 0.75 cup Cold milk

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. 3Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Work quickly to keep the butter cold.
  4. 4Add the cold milk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix. The dough will be shaggy.
  5. 5Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat the dough into a ¾-inch thick rectangle. Use a 2.5-inch biscuit cutter or a knife to cut out biscuits. Place the biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. 6Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. 7Serve warm with butter, jam, or honey.
