Jellied Walnuts
A simple recipe for jellied walnuts, a vintage treat.
Ingredients
- 0.25 box Gelatine (Or 1 tablespoon granulated gelatine)
- 0.25 cup Cold water
- 1 cup Walnuts, shelled (Roughly chopped)
- 0.5 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Water
Instructions
- 1In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatine over the cold water. Let it stand for 5 minutes to soften.
- 2In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
- 3Add the softened gelatine to the hot sugar syrup and stir until completely dissolved.
- 4Stir in the chopped walnuts.
- 5Pour the mixture into a mold or individual serving dishes. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until set.
