Jellied Walnuts

Jellied Walnuts

A simple recipe for jellied walnuts, a vintage treat.

Ingredients

  • 0.25 box Gelatine (Or 1 tablespoon granulated gelatine)
  • 0.25 cup Cold water
  • 1 cup Walnuts, shelled (Roughly chopped)
  • 0.5 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water

Instructions

  1. 1In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatine over the cold water. Let it stand for 5 minutes to soften.
  2. 2In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
  3. 3Add the softened gelatine to the hot sugar syrup and stir until completely dissolved.
  4. 4Stir in the chopped walnuts.
  5. 5Pour the mixture into a mold or individual serving dishes. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until set.
