Ivory Cream
A simple dessert cream made with gelatin and water.
Ingredients
- 0.75 tablespoon Granulated Gelatin
- 1 tablespoon Cold Water
- 0.25 cup Granulated Sugar (Adjust to taste)
- 1 cup Milk
- 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (Optional)
Instructions
- 1In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom (soften).
- 2In a saucepan, combine the milk and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved and the milk is warm but not boiling. Do not boil.
- 3Remove the milk mixture from the heat. Add the bloomed gelatin to the warm milk and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved. Stir in vanilla extract, if using.
- 4Pour the mixture into individual serving dishes or a mold. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or until set.
