Indian Bread

A simple and slightly sweet Indian-inspired bread made with graham flour and cornmeal.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Graham flour
  • 1 cup Cornmeal
  • 0.5 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Molasses
  • 1.67 cups Milk

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. 2In a large bowl, whisk together the graham flour, cornmeal, baking soda, and salt.
  3. 3Add the molasses and milk to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. 4Pour the batter into a greased 8x8 inch baking pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. 5Let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
