Iced Tea and Wellesley Tea

A refreshing iced tea recipe with variations, including Wellesley Tea with mint.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Water (For boiling)
  • 2 bags Tea bags (Or 2 teaspoons loose leaf tea)
  • 1 cup Cracked ice (Approximately, for chilling)
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar (Or to taste)
  • 2 slices Lemon (One slice per glass)
  • 6 leaves Fresh mint leaves (For Wellesley Tea variation)

Instructions

  1. 1Bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil.
  2. 2Pour the boiling water over the tea bags (or loose leaf tea) and let steep for 3-5 minutes, or according to package directions.
  3. 3Remove tea bags (or strain loose leaf tea). Fill glasses one-third full with cracked ice. Pour the hot tea over the ice.
  4. 4Sweeten to taste with sugar. Add one slice of lemon to each glass. Serve immediately.
  5. 5For Wellesley Tea, crush 3 mint leaves per glass and add them to the glass before straining the hot tea over the ice. Proceed as in step 4.
