Iced Tea and Wellesley Tea
A refreshing iced tea recipe with variations, including Wellesley Tea with mint.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Water (For boiling)
- 2 bags Tea bags (Or 2 teaspoons loose leaf tea)
- 1 cup Cracked ice (Approximately, for chilling)
- 2 tablespoons Sugar (Or to taste)
- 2 slices Lemon (One slice per glass)
- 6 leaves Fresh mint leaves (For Wellesley Tea variation)
Instructions
- 1Bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil.
- 2Pour the boiling water over the tea bags (or loose leaf tea) and let steep for 3-5 minutes, or according to package directions.
- 3Remove tea bags (or strain loose leaf tea). Fill glasses one-third full with cracked ice. Pour the hot tea over the ice.
- 4Sweeten to taste with sugar. Add one slice of lemon to each glass. Serve immediately.
- 5For Wellesley Tea, crush 3 mint leaves per glass and add them to the glass before straining the hot tea over the ice. Proceed as in step 4.
