Ice Cream Candy

Ice Cream Candy

A simple recipe for making hard candy that resembles ice cream in texture.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
  • 1 cup Water

Instructions

  1. 1In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, cream of tartar, and water.
  2. 2Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Once dissolved, stop stirring and let the mixture come to a boil. Continue to cook until the mixture reaches the hard-crack stage (300-310°F or 149-154°C) on a candy thermometer. This will take approximately 15-20 minutes.
  3. 3Carefully pour the hot candy mixture onto a lightly greased baking sheet or silicone mat. Let it cool completely until hardened. This will take about 10-15 minutes.
  4. 4Once the candy is completely cool and hardened, break it into irregular pieces. Store in an airtight container.
