Hominy Gems

Simple hominy gems, a basic recipe for a side dish or snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Hominy, cooked (Canned or freshly prepared)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt (Or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, melted (For greasing the pan)

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. 2Grease a muffin tin or gem pan with melted butter.
  3. 3In a bowl, combine the cooked hominy and salt. Mix well.
  4. 4Spoon the hominy mixture into the prepared muffin tin or gem pan, filling each cup about ¾ full.
  5. 5Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the gems are lightly golden brown and set.
  6. 6Let the hominy gems cool slightly in the pan before removing and serving.
