Grated Chocolate Cake
A simple cake recipe featuring grated Baker's chocolate. This modernized version provides clear instructions and ingredient measurements for a delicious and easy-to-bake cake.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces Baker's unsweetened chocolate (Grated)
- 0.5 cup Unsalted butter (Softened)
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 0.5 cup Milk
- 1.5 cups All-purpose flour
- 0.5 teaspoon Baking soda
- 0.25 teaspoon Cream of tartar
- 2 Eggs (Whites only)
Instructions
- 1Grate the Baker's chocolate using a grater or food processor. Set aside.
- 2In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- 3Gradually add the milk to the creamed butter and sugar. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- 4In a separate clean bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the batter. Then, fold in the grated chocolate until evenly distributed.
- 5Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9-inch cake pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 6Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely. Serve and enjoy!
