Dry Toast
Simple recipe for making dry toast, perfect for serving with soups or as a light snack.
Ingredients
- 4 slices Bread slices (Stale bread is preferred)
- 1 tablespoon Butter (Optional, for serving)
Instructions
- 1Cut the stale bread into approximately one-fourth inch slices. The crust may or may not be removed, depending on preference.
- 2Place the bread slices in a toaster or on a wire rack in the oven. If using a toaster, set to a low setting. If using an oven, preheat to 300°F (150°C).
- 3If using a toaster, toast until dry and slightly golden. If using an oven, bake for about 3-5 minutes on each side, until dry and slightly golden. Turn the slices over halfway through toasting/baking.
- 4Remove the toast from the toaster or oven. Serve immediately. Toast may be buttered at the table or before sending to the table.
