Date Bread

A delicious and moist date bread with walnuts, perfect for sandwiches or a snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Honey
  • 0.25 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 0.66 cup English walnut meats, chopped (About 80g)
  • 0.66 cup Dates, pitted and chopped (About 100g)

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. 2In a large bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. 3In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs, honey, vegetable oil, and milk.
  4. 4Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. 5Gently fold in the chopped walnuts and dates.
  6. 6Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. 7Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.
