Date Bread
A delicious and moist date bread with walnuts, perfect for sandwiches or a snack.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Whole wheat flour
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 2 Eggs
- 0.5 cup Honey
- 0.25 cup Vegetable oil
- 1 cup Milk
- 0.66 cup English walnut meats, chopped (About 80g)
- 0.66 cup Dates, pitted and chopped (About 100g)
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- 2In a large bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- 3In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs, honey, vegetable oil, and milk.
- 4Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 5Gently fold in the chopped walnuts and dates.
- 6Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 50 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 7Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.
