Creamy Farina Soup

A simple and comforting farina soup, enriched with milk and cream, and subtly flavored with nutmeg.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Chicken Stock (Can substitute with vegetable stock for a vegetarian option.)
  • 0.25 cup Farina (Also known as Cream of Wheat.)
  • 2 cups Milk (Scalded)
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 0.125 teaspoon Nutmeg (Freshly grated)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt (To taste)
  • 0.125 teaspoon Black Pepper (Freshly ground, to taste)

Instructions

  1. 1In a medium saucepan, bring the chicken stock to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. 2Gradually whisk in the farina into the boiling stock. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. 3Stir in the scalded milk and heavy cream. Add nutmeg, salt, and pepper to taste. Heat through gently, but do not boil.
  4. 4Serve hot and enjoy!
