Creamed Sardines
A simple and flavorful dish of sardines in a creamy sauce, perfect for a light lunch or snack.
Ingredients
- 1 3.75 oz can Sardines in oil (Drained)
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 2 tablespoons Soft stale bread crumbs
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 2 large Hard-boiled eggs (Finely chopped)
- 0.25 teaspoon Salt (To taste)
- 0.125 teaspoon Black pepper (To taste)
- 0.25 teaspoon Paprika (To taste)
Instructions
- 1Drain the sardines from the oil. Remove the backbones from the fish, then mash the sardines with a fork.
- 2Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the bread crumbs and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until lightly browned. Pour in the cream and heat through, stirring occasionally.
- 3Add the chopped hard-boiled eggs and mashed sardines to the cream sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika to taste. Stir gently to combine. Heat through for another 2 minutes.
