Cream Maple Sugar Frosting
A simple and delicious frosting made with maple sugar and cream, perfect for cakes and cookies.
Ingredients
- 0.5 lb Maple sugar (Soft maple sugar, broken into small pieces)
- 0.5 cup Heavy cream
Instructions
- 1In a medium saucepan, combine the maple sugar and heavy cream.
- 2Place the saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the maple sugar is completely dissolved. Once dissolved, bring the mixture to a boil and continue to boil without stirring until a small amount of the mixture, when dropped into a bowl of cold water, forms a soft ball (about 10-15 minutes). Use a candy thermometer to reach 235-240°F.
- 3Remove the saucepan from the heat and let cool slightly for a few minutes. Then, using an electric mixer or a sturdy spoon, beat the frosting until it thickens and reaches a spreadable consistency. This may take a few minutes.
- 4Spread the frosting immediately onto your cake or cookies. Enjoy!
