Cocoa Shell Wafers
A simple recipe for cocoa shell wafers, adapted from a vintage recipe. This recipe incorporates the wafer-making technique from Recipe 11.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Cocoa Shells (Finely ground)
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
- 0.25 cup Unsalted butter (Softened)
- 0.25 cup Milk
- 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Instructions
- 1Grind the cocoa shells into a fine powder using a spice grinder or food processor.
- 2In a bowl, combine the ground cocoa shells, flour, and sugar.
- 3Add the softened butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
- 4Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the hot surface and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crisp.
- 5Transfer the cooked wafers to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
