Chocolate Charlotte
A simple and elegant chocolate dessert made with gelatin and cream.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon Gelatine (Granulated gelatine)
- 0.25 cup Cold water
- 0.33 cup Heavy cream (Scalded)
- 4 ounces Dark chocolate (Good quality, chopped)
- 0.25 cup Granulated sugar (Optional, adjust to taste)
Instructions
- 1In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatine over the cold water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes to soften.
- 2In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat.
- 3Add the chopped chocolate and sugar (if using) to the scalded cream. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- 4Add the bloomed gelatine to the chocolate mixture and stir until completely dissolved. Pour the mixture into individual ramekins or a small serving bowl. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
