Caramel Syrup

Caramel Syrup

A simple caramel syrup made by melting sugar and adding boiling water, perfect for desserts and drinks.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup Granulated Sugar (For caramelizing)
  • 0.5 cup Boiling Water

Instructions

  1. 1Place the sugar in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly with a heat-resistant spatula or spoon, until the sugar melts and turns into a golden amber color. Be careful not to burn the sugar.
  2. 2Carefully pour the boiling water into the melted sugar. The mixture will bubble vigorously. Stir constantly until the caramel is smooth and the water is fully incorporated.
  3. 3Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the syrup thickens slightly.
  4. 4Remove from heat and let the syrup cool completely before serving. The syrup will thicken further as it cools. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
