A simple recipe for making biscuits, inspired by berry muffins. These biscuits incorporate the sweetness of berries for a delightful breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Cold unsalted butter (Cut into small cubes)
  • 0.75 cup Cold milk
  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, or mixed)

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. 2In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. 3Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. 4Gently stir in the cold milk until just combined. Fold in the fresh berries.
  5. 5Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat the dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Use a biscuit cutter or knife to cut out biscuits.
  6. 6Place the biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet. Let them rise for 10 minutes.
  7. 7Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
