Baked Crumb Topping
A simple baked crumb topping, perfect for adding texture and flavor to desserts or savory dishes.
Ingredients
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
- 0.5 cup Brown sugar, packed
- 0.5 cup Cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes ((1 stick or 4 ounces))
- 0.5 teaspoon Ground cinnamon (Optional)
- 0.25 teaspoon Salt (Optional)
Instructions
- 1In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon (if using), and salt (if using).
- 2Add the cold butter cubes to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry blender or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- 3Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the crumb mixture evenly on a baking sheet. Bake until the crumbs are golden brown, about 12-15 minutes. Stir halfway through to ensure even browning.
- 4Let the crumb topping cool completely before using. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
