Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Brown sugar, packed
  • 0.5 cup Cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes ((1 stick or 4 ounces))
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground cinnamon (Optional)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt (Optional)

Instructions

  1. 1In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon (if using), and salt (if using).
  2. 2Add the cold butter cubes to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry blender or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. 3Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the crumb mixture evenly on a baking sheet. Bake until the crumbs are golden brown, about 12-15 minutes. Stir halfway through to ensure even browning.
  4. 4Let the crumb topping cool completely before using. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
