Baked and Sautéed Bananas
Two simple and delicious ways to prepare bananas: baked until sweet and caramelized, or sautéed in butter for a rich, decadent treat.
Ingredients
- 4 Bananas (Choose ripe but firm bananas)
- 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar (For baked bananas)
- 2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour (For sautéed bananas)
- 2 tablespoons Clarified Butter (Or regular butter, for sautéed bananas)
- 2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar (For sautéed bananas)
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange bananas in a shallow baking pan.
- 2Cover the pan with foil. Bake until the banana skins become very dark in color, about 15-20 minutes.
- 3Remove bananas from skins, and serve hot sprinkled with granulated sugar.
- 4Remove skins from bananas, cut in halves lengthwise, and again cut in halves crosswise.
- 5Dredge the cut bananas with all-purpose flour.
- 6Melt clarified butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the floured bananas until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes per side.
- 7Drain the sautéed bananas on paper towels. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
