Creamy Polenta with Cheese and Butter
A simple and comforting polenta recipe, perfect as a side dish or a base for other toppings. This modernized version ensures a smooth and creamy texture.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Yellow Polenta (fine ground) (Original recipe calls for 3/4 cup, increasing for modern portions)
- 4 cups Water (Original recipe calls for 3 cups, increasing for modern portions)
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt (To taste)
- 2 tablespoons Butter (Unsalted)
- 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese (Freshly grated)
Instructions
- 1In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add salt.
- 2Reduce heat to low. Slowly pour in the polenta in a thin stream, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Continue whisking until all the polenta is incorporated. Cook for 25-30 minutes, stirring frequently, until the polenta is thick and creamy and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- 3Remove from heat. Stir in the butter and grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined. Serve immediately.
