Creamy Polenta with Cheese and Butter

A simple and comforting polenta recipe, perfect as a side dish or a base for other toppings. This modernized version ensures a smooth and creamy texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Yellow Polenta (fine ground) (Original recipe calls for 3/4 cup, increasing for modern portions)
  • 4 cups Water (Original recipe calls for 3 cups, increasing for modern portions)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt (To taste)
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (Unsalted)
  • 0.5 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese (Freshly grated)

Instructions

  1. 1In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add salt.
  2. 2Reduce heat to low. Slowly pour in the polenta in a thin stream, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Continue whisking until all the polenta is incorporated. Cook for 25-30 minutes, stirring frequently, until the polenta is thick and creamy and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  3. 3Remove from heat. Stir in the butter and grated Parmesan cheese until melted and well combined. Serve immediately.
