Baked Codfish with White Wine Sauce
A simple and elegant baked codfish recipe with a delicate white wine and lemon sauce.
Ingredients
- 0.5 lb Fresh Codfish Fillets (Skinless and boneless)
- 2 tbsp Butter (Divided)
- 0.25 tsp Salt (Or to taste)
- 0.125 tsp Black Pepper (Freshly ground, or to taste)
- 0.25 cup Dry White Wine (Such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio)
- 1 tsp All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice (Freshly squeezed)
- 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley (Chopped)
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with 1 tablespoon of butter.
- 2Place the codfish fillets in the prepared baking dish. Dot with the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Season with salt and pepper. Pour the white wine over the fish. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- 3While the fish is baking, pour the juices from the baking dish into a small saucepan. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2 minutes. Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley. Remove from heat.
- 4Place the baked codfish on a platter and pour the sauce over the fish. Serve immediately.
