Agro Dolce Sauce
A sweet and sour sauce, perfect for venison or veal.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons Sugar (brown or white)
- 0.5 cup Currants
- 0.25 ounce Grated chocolate (About a quarter of a standard chocolate bar)
- 1 tablespoon Chopped candied orange peel
- 1 tablespoon Chopped lemon peel
- 1 tablespoon Capers
- 1 cup Vinegar (red wine or apple cider)
Instructions
- 1In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, currants, grated chocolate, chopped candied orange peel, chopped lemon peel, capers, and vinegar.
- 2Mix well and let soak for at least 30 minutes. Then, bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- 3Pour the sauce over venison or veal and serve immediately.
