Vermicelli Pudding
A sweet pudding made with vermicelli, milk, eggs, and sugar, baked until set.
Ingredients
- 1 cupful Broken Italian vermicelli
- 1 1/2 pints Whole milk (Originally sweet milk. Substituted with whole milk for modern preference.)
- 4 Eggs
- 1 cupful Granulated sugar
- 1 large tablespoonful Butter
- 1 teaspoonful Vanilla extract
Instructions
- 1Boil vermicelli in well salted water for 10 minutes. Drain.
- 2Add the cooked vermicelli to the boiling milk and simmer for 20 minutes.
- 3Remove from heat. Pour in sugar, eggs, and butter (beaten together), and vanilla extract. Put in a well-buttered pudding dish. Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F (175°C) for 35 minutes, or until set.
