Veal Stew
A classic veal stew recipe.
Ingredients
- 4 lbs Veal
- 12 large Potatoes
- as needed Salt
- as needed Pepper
- as needed Salt pork
- as needed Water
Instructions
- 1Cut the veal into strips approximately 3 inches long and 1 inch thick.
- 2Peel the potatoes and cut them into slices approximately 1 inch thick.
- 3Spread a layer of veal on the bottom of a pot. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add a layer of potatoes, then another layer of seasoned veal. Repeat the layers until the veal is used up.
- 4Over the last layer of veal, place a layer of salt pork slices, and then top with a final layer of potatoes.
- 5Pour in water until it rises about an inch over the ingredients. Cover the pot tightly. Heat for 15 minutes and then simmer for 1 hour.
