Veal Stew

Veal Stew

A classic veal stew recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs Veal
  • 12 large Potatoes
  • as needed Salt
  • as needed Pepper
  • as needed Salt pork
  • as needed Water

Instructions

  1. 1Cut the veal into strips approximately 3 inches long and 1 inch thick.
  2. 2Peel the potatoes and cut them into slices approximately 1 inch thick.
  3. 3Spread a layer of veal on the bottom of a pot. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add a layer of potatoes, then another layer of seasoned veal. Repeat the layers until the veal is used up.
  4. 4Over the last layer of veal, place a layer of salt pork slices, and then top with a final layer of potatoes.
  5. 5Pour in water until it rises about an inch over the ingredients. Cover the pot tightly. Heat for 15 minutes and then simmer for 1 hour.
