Vanilla Cake

Ingredients
- 1.25 cupfuls Butter
- 2 cupfuls Sugar
- 6 Egg Yelks
- 1 pint Flour
- 1.5 teaspoonfuls Royal Baking Powder
- 1 cupful Cream
- 1 teaspoonful Royal Extract Vanilla
Instructions
- 1In a large bowl, rub together 1 1/4 cupfuls of butter and 2 cupfuls of sugar until very light and creamy.
- 2Add 6 egg yelks and 1 cupful of cream to the butter and sugar mixture. Mix well.
- 3Sift together 1 pint of flour and 1 1/2 teaspoonfuls of Royal Baking Powder. Add this to the wet ingredients along with 1 teaspoonful of Royal Extract Vanilla. Mix into a smooth, rather firm batter.
- 4Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pour batter into a shallow square pan and bake in a fairly hot oven for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
